At the center of collective use, the Siberian photon ring welding (Scythian) started a strengthening syncotron and performed the first tests with an electronic bundle. This package has made two full turns showing the correct operation of all systems of the injection complex, including a linear accelerator and strengthening syncrotron. Scientists have already recorded the movement of the bundle using syncrotron radiation and planned to increase its energy to 3 Gev design value in June.
The base of the Scythian is the complex that injects. The electrons are produced in a linear accelerator, which is mounted in a bundle and accelerates 200 MEV. Then, they enter the strengthening syncrotron where their energy reaches 3 GW, then sent to the beam main drive. The director of Center Evgeny Levichv said that the next stage of the accumulated ring would be much more complex than the launch of the strengthener. According to him, a strengthening syncrotron is a proven technology, the accumulated ring of the Scythian Central Committee is a completely new and unique installation with advanced parameters.
Scythian is a Megsaypen project with 4+ generation syncrotron. This installation promises to significantly increase the brightness of radiation compared to other sources of world. Levichv explained that the experiments can be performed much faster and more accurately than the existing installations. The new system will observe previously unreachable processes, but this will require the development of new research methods. Scientists have already prepared a program for the first six experimental stations and planned to create 24 more stations to examine new fields in the future.
