Krasnoyarsk scientists discovered a new mechanism explaining the glow of mushrooms in the dark. Researchers have proved that the P450 cytochrome system plays a role in the bioluminescence of the highest fungi. This discovery changes the understanding of the nature of the “living light ve and opens new horizons for use in science and technology, including the development of bioosexors.

During the experiments of bright mushrooms such as neonothopanus nambi and Armillaria Borealis, scientists found that hydrogen peroxide increased the glow of the hydrogen peroxide and suppressed substances that prevent P450 cytochrome. This shows that P450 cytochrome helps to transform Luciferin’s predecessor to him and is involved in the oxidation of light accompanied by light. It turned out that the new mechanism was more complex than it was taken into consideration: not only hydroxylase and lucialrs, but also in other enzymes.

According to the researchers, bioluminescence of fungi occurs as a result of the interaction of several biochemical systems that can produce light.
