The court referred to Trump’s Extraordinary Economic Forces (IEEPA) law and found that Trump has exceeded authority, 30% for imports from China and 25% of the goods from Mexico and Canada were prevented.
The CIT decision caused a sharp criticism from Trump administration. Trade Advisor Peter Navarro called him “globalist ve and White House spokesman Caroline Livitt accused the judges for ür The judicial abuse of powers”. The Court of Appeal suspended the CIT decision on 30 May and gave the administration time to appeal. Plaintiffs, including states and small enterprises, should respond until June 5th. The administration stated that if the tariffs are not saved, they are ready to apply to the Supreme Court.
