It was shown in 60 FPS on the usual PlayStation 5 and included a port city, forest landscapes and a realistic Kelpi horse – all of this worked for Unreal Engine 5.
According to CDPR Julius Girbig’s senior technical animator, the choice of the console was conscious: the developers wanted to show how much the engine could be optimized for the current generation.
Girbig said that the scene shown is not part of the last game, but that the Witcher 4 was a demonstration of internal vehicles in which it was built. However, the level of visual style and detail corresponds to the final plan.
After technical difficulties with Cyberpunk 2077, the CDPR in 2022 abandoned its re -tipped engine and moved to the Unreal Motor 5.
According to Hirbig, the UE5 provides everything necessary for large -scale RPG from advanced AI and intense open worlds to many stable project development. As the animator points out – UE5 “no longer prevents the artist from thinking large -scale thinking.”
