At CES, Lenovo launched the ThinkPad Z13 with the Ryzen 7 Pro 6860Z apu optimized for this particular laptop. The technical specifications of this particular processor have now been made public by Lenovo. It turned out to be a Ryzen 6850U with slightly increased clock speeds.

The base clock frequency remained the same at 2.7 gigahertz, boost was increased by only 25 megahertz to 4.725 GHz. TDP falls in the same class between 15 and 28W. AMD also shared some benchmark results of a laptop with this apu and 32GB lpddr5-6400, 1 terabyte ssd, Windows 11 Pro and gpu driver 30.0. These compare to the ThinkPad X1 Carbon with a 12-core and 16-thread Intel i5-1260P that can go up to 4.7 gigahertz with a TDP of 28W and a maximum power of 64W.

In addition to a more than 20 percent performance margin in PCMark and Cinebench, less power is used and temperatures stay lower. This shows that the optimizations are mainly applied in the power management area, which should lead to excellent battery life. The ThinkPad Z13 will be available for $1549, and the Z16 for $2099.
