The conflict between Huawei and MediaTek has been going on for several years. In 2022, Huawei tried to agree on licensing patents with MediaTek, but the agreement did not take place – MediaTek calculated the conditions unjustly. On the other hand, Huawei filed a lawsuit for a violation of 4G and 5G patents.
In 2023, MediaTek filed a lawsuit against the British Court through subsidiaries, including HFI. Huawei tried to set global license conditions, but the court rejected this requirement.
