Apple quietly removed the AirTag battery indicator in iOS 15.6. Other tag owners could view the charger in the Find My app.
In watchOS 8.7 and macOS 12.5, the battery indicator is also gone. It’s not in the iOS 16 beta either.
At the moment, AirTag owners cannot independently find out the state of the battery and replace it in advance.
