The president of the new unit was Alexander Ryzhkov, the former leading researcher of the world’s four -storey Kaggle Grand Master and Ai Sber Laboratory. The department will form the working prototypes of technology and transfer it to grocery commands for the application in Avito services.
Particular attention will be paid to productive models, computer view, audio technologies, defense protection systems and 3D visualization of goods. Researchers will follow world tendencies, identify promising technologies and determine development priority areas based on demands from other departments of the company.
Avito also plans to cooperate with Russian universities and attract students and graduate students to research. As a part of past programs, the company has already joined a summer school in AI, and also launched a master’s degree in IFTI. Until 2028, Avito plans to prepare a maximum of 3,000 experts in the field of artificial intelligence.
The company’s total budget for the development of productive technologies by 2028 will exceed 12 billion rubles.
