After revealing that TOEI Animation Europe and Anime Factory would be previewing Lucca Comics & Games 2022, the biggest event of a piece never seen in Italy and announced the presence of the director, the maestro Gorō Taniguchi – who will be present at the national preview of the film on Saturday 29 October One Piece Film: Red – here are in detail all the initiatives designed for the occasion.
The Italian premiere of One Piece Film: Red is enhanced by the presence of very special guests: the director of the film, Goro Taniguchi, and the director of animation, Masayuki Sato.
We believe that now is the best time to realize this event in collaboration with Lucca Comics & Games. It will be a very important moment for the festival as well as for One Piece and One Piece Film: Red. It’s also our way of expressing our gratitude to our fans and celebrating with them One Piece, one of the largest entertainment brands in the world.

EXCLUSIVE EVENTS
October 28: To kick off our celebrations, don’t miss the special Crunchyroll partners and friends screening of three special One Piece episodes dedicated to Luffy, Uta and Shanks! Details will follow shortly. After the screening, at 7.30 pm, everyone will come together in a special location, where you can attend a show with light and sound: UTA live from Budokan night projection! Details to follow in the coming days.
October 29: Italian premiere of One Piece Film: Red at Cinema Astra, Piazza del Giglio. The Italian premiere of One Piece Film: Red will be in the original language with subtitles and will take place in the presence of Goro Taniguchi (director), Masayuki Sato (animation director and character designer), Hiroaki Shibata (producer).
The screening will be preceded by the official red carpet in the presence of our Japanese guests and part of the Italian cast, and will be celebrated with gadgets and special effects.
The red carpet starts at 3 p.m. The ticket price for the premiere of One Piece Film: Red is included in the Lucca Comics & Games ticket valid for Saturday, October 29. Details on how to book the premiere ticket will be announced in the coming days.
October 30: Interview with Taniguchi-san at the Teatro del Giglio. At the same time Sato-san live drawing session. The time of the event will be announced shortly.
October 30: Luffy’s crew, One Piece fans from all over Italy, listen to our song and gather for Luffy’s Balloon who will guard the city walls of Lucca! We need your help and your vote to make the best One Piece Karaoke ever! Come cosplayers or simple sailors, and sing with us to be able to send a special message to sensei Oda thanking him for creating our dream.
We’ll play karaoke with you and then sing as loud as we can, all along with the historic One Piece opening theme, “We are”!
The event will count on the presence of the great guide of Emanuela Pacotto, alias Nami.
A musical parade will bring you all back to the One Piece booth. The event starts at 2:30 PM.
October 30: Taniguchi-san and Sato-san sign autographs at the One Piece Film: Red booth. The event will be a 45 minute session. The signatures will be signed on a special shikishi prepared by Toei Animation on a drawing by Sato-san. The time of the event will be announced later.
FAN ACTIVITIES, EVERY DAY
Here is the list of events and activities that fans can experience every day from Lucca Comics & Games.
TREASURE HUNT IN ONE MOVIE: RED X LUCCA COMICS & GAMES 2022
Each day, fans will receive a card from Lucca Comics & Games branded One Piece Film: Red x Lucca Comics & Games 2022. On the card, each participating One Piece partner booth will be represented by a member of the Straw Hat Crew + special guests.
Fans must go to each participating booth to receive a stamp on the card. When they’re done, they’ll need to post a photo of the One Piece Film: Red movie poster on Instagram that will hang on one side of the One Piece Film: Red booth to receive an exclusive redemption. The exchanges depend on the number of stands and stamps collected.
For those who complete the treasure hunt, there is an exclusive One Piece Film gadget: Red x Lucca Comics & Games. In addition, they will participate every day in the extraction of 3 mega bags of One Piece products worth more than 300 euros. All participants will receive a cardboard straw hat to wear along with the card. The map and the straw hat will be distributed next to the One Piece Film: Red booth and in the booths of the One Piece partners present in the Japan Town area.
HUNTING FOR HIDDEN CHARACTERS
Uta, Shanks and Luffy are hidden within the walls of Lucca! We know where they are, but we won’t tell you! Search for the secret lair of the three protagonists of One Piece Film: Red. If you find them, take a picture of it and post it on Instagram as a STORY tagging One Piece. There is a very special reward at the One Piece Film: Red stand if you find all 3!
BEWARE THE PIRATES!
In addition to the Treasure Hunt map, another map will be distributed with 38 (THIRTY-EIGHT) characters from One Piece Film: Red. Spot pirates literally all over the city of Lucca! 38 banners, one for each character, will be hung from 38 lampposts within the city walls. Shoot and mark the ones you see on the map, if you find them all, go to the One Piece booth and ask for a prize! Anyway, take a picture of your favorite pirate and post it online with One Piece hashtags!
