Methane missiles become increasingly popular for the output of satellites: this fuel is considered less pollutant, safer and cheaper than traditional hydrocarbons, and at the same time suitable for reusable missiles.
In July 2023, Landspace started a rocket on methane and liquid oxygen Zhuque-2 in front of American companies SpaceX and Blue Origin. After that, the company tested different versions of the Zhuqe-2 series, including the Zhuque-2e Y2, which was successful in May 2024.
This time, the Zhuqu-2e Y3 missile began from the commercial cosmodroma in the north-west of China, but collided with a problem. The company has not yet conducted an investigation and does not explain the details.
