MTS is looking for product managers in the “smart column” direction. The company intends to update and resale its smart speaker with the Marvin voice assistant. This is the operator’s second attempt to create its own smart speaker, the first became known at the end of 2019. The first version of the column never made it to mass sale.
MTS integrates the column with your smart home systems. The company can find a contract manufacturer in Russia or China, Kommersant learned.
MTS released the Marvin voice assistant in June 2020. It was possible to communicate with him through smartphones on iOS and Android, as well as MTS portable smart speakers.
Through Marvin, it was possible to turn on music, audiobooks and fairy tales, plan a daily schedule, learn the latest news and control smart home devices.
Smart speakers are available on Yandex, Sberbank and VK. Sales of "Station" "Yandex" since the beginning of the year increased by 76%. Sber is talking about an increase in sales of Sber devices by 40%. VK notes a 3.5-fold increase in smart speaker sales.
The market for voice assistant speakers is actively growing, with sales increasing by one and a half times in January-May alone, exceeding 700,000 units, said Pavel Vyukov, director of the Smart Home and Ecosystem Solutions department at Marvel Distribution.
