Elvin Drew, Director of Sustainable Development of NASA space, said that China has abandoned the US independent maneuvers and suggested that the solution to the Chinese side. This step was the first example of this bilateral cooperation among state space agencies.

Previously, the interaction between China and the United States in the prevention of orbit events was minimal. Usually NASA informed CNSA about possible conflicts and reported that the American satellite would keep a maneuver. China’s response was often uncertain or was completely absent. In one of the cases, both satellites made maneuvers at the same time and barely avoided a collision.

“Stay in place and we will make maneuver,” a message from CNSA stressed the cooperation between organizations.
