The company explains that connectivity via Bluetooth, AUX and HDMI will continue to be available.
For home theater and SoundTouch soundbars (Lifestyle 650, SoundTouch 130, SoundTouch 300), HDMI, optical inputs, and Bluetooth will continue to work. However, streaming and control through the app will no longer work.
Bose explains this by saying that technology has changed so much since 2013 that it has become impossible to maintain the old cloud infrastructure. The company also has no plans to release a new app or platform for SoundTouch.
While many expressed their dissatisfaction, some complained that they had spent thousands of dollars on devices that would now lose their basic features.
