Elon Musk’s The Boring Company is building an underground tunnel for cars in Dubai. This was stated by the UAE Minister for Artificial Intelligence Omar Al Olama.
The project is called “Dubai Loop”. The length of the tunnel is 17 km, passenger flow is 20 thousand people per hour. In the future, the Dubai Loop will consist of “multiple loops”.
The first section of the tunnel will be launched in the second quarter of 2026.
It is not yet known whether there will be a tunnel intended only for Tesla, or whether they will be able to use and save other cars. It is also unclear exactly how the cars will move inside: on platforms, independently or only under driver control. [Bloomberg]
