Microsoft introduced MAI-Image-1, the company’s first proprietary AI model for image generation.
In the LMArena ranking, MAI-Image-1 takes 9th place, behind Nano Banana, ChatGPT and Seedream 4.
When creating MAI-Image-1, the company paid special attention to the quality of training data. Microsoft says MAI-Image-1 “excellently produces photorealistic images.”
The company plans to add MAI-Image-1 to Copilot and Bing Image Creator in the future. Currently, these services operate on the basis of OpenAI AI models.
