Apple may be hinting at a new feature for the future Studio Display that users have been asking for for a long time – support for periodic 120Hz refreshes.

The clue comes after the announcement of the iPad Pro with the M5 chip, which now supports external displays at up to 120Hz and uses Adaptive Sync to reduce latency and make images smoother. In an official press release, Apple noted that this is especially useful for creative tasks such as video editing and gaming.

For now, the maximum frequency for older studio displays is limited to 60 Hz. The new product should be presented at the beginning of 2026.
