Yandex has begun developing Physical AI – intelligent artificial intelligence that will learn to deeply understand the material world, interact with it, take into account the context and adapt to my conditions. It will be used in robots and self-driving cars.
Physical artificial robotic intelligence is developing the Yandexix and autonomous transport team. The experience gained on roads and indoors, combined with Yandex technologies, will make it possible to teach robots and autonomous cars complex processing of multimodal data: image, video, sound, text. This corresponds to their human perception.

The company has already trained a VLA model (Vision-Language-Action model), which converts incoming commands and images into real actions. It currently supports more than 10 basic actions, including pick up, put down, and carry.
