In Russia, every eleventh resident aged 18 to 64 is employed in the service sector. During the year, the number of freelancers and companies grew to 4.5 million, while 8.6 million people work in the microenterprise segment of the services market. This is what the study “Avito. Services” and Data Insight, RB became familiar with the results.
From April of last year to March of this year, the Russians made about 2.6 billion requests for services.
The largest service categories in terms of the number of performers: construction and improvement, home renovation, business services, and services in the field of beauty and health. Most of the orders are in the field of beauty and health, transportation and courier, and training.
In 70% of cases, artists receive orders through the Internet. At the same time, a third of providers used paid channels to attract customers in the last two months.
Among the popular sites in terms of the percentage of attracting online orders are Avito (31%), VKontakte (15%) and the providers’ own websites (13%). After the lockdown, Instagram* disappeared from the top and messengers (30%) took its place.
