Earlier this year, Acronis, a developer of data protection solutions, raised $250 million. Investors raised the company’s valuation to $3.5 billion. Participants in the round included the world’s largest investment firm, BlackRock Inc., writes Bloomberg.
Acronis was last valued at $2.5 billion in May 2021 after raising $250 million from CVC Capital Partners VII and others. The company also previously received financing from Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
Acronis was founded by Sergey Belousov and Ilya Zubarev in Singapore in 2003. Since 2008, Acronis has a representative office in Switzerland.
According to its own data, the company’s solutions are used by more than 5.5 million home users and 500 thousand companies, including members of the Fortune 1000 list.
In July 2021, Sergei Belousov stepped down as CEO of the company. He remained a member of the board of directors and director of research and decided to oversee the development of new technologies.
In March 2022, Acronis suspended all operations in Russia.
