Scientists analyzed 72 so-called bed burials – with this method, the corpse is simply placed on a bed and buried – in Europe, from Slovakia to England. It turned out that only female remains were found in the English burial burials. Scholars have concluded that burials in Europe took place at a time when Christian women married non-Christian husbands.
The fact is that analysis of isotopes of bones taken from various graves in England showed that the women buried there did not grow up in England. Scholars have suggested that Christian women brought these burials with them, so they were associated with femininity and Christianity in Dark Age England.
