Yandex created and tested two industrial robots. One is designed to work in the warehouses of the Market, and the second – in the dark stores of the Lavka. The program has developed light and software for the robots. They are assembled from foreign parts, and can also be equipped with Yandex, which are made to order in Russia.
Robot Market continues inventory of bulky goods (washing machines, refrigerators, stoves), as well as large batches of goods stored on pallets (cereals, sugar, butter, pasta). It moves along the racks and is already used in the largest logistics complex of the marketplace in Sofia.
The Lavka robot can place goods in the dark store and collect orders. Yandex is currently testing a prototype platform that mimics a real darkstore. After placing an order in the Shop, the robot automatically receives the necessary goods and gives them to the employee for assembly.
In the future, Yandex plans to use robots not only in its warehouses, but also to sell them to other companies, including abroad. [Forbes]
