“Cinema Park” and “Formula Kino” canceled screenings of “cinema products” before they could start

About the abolition of the free pre-screening service in cinemas, “Intferfax” writes with reference to Alexei Vasyasin, the general director of the united network of cinemas, which includes “Cinema Park” and “Formula Kino”.

Movie theaters canceled showings of so-called film products even before they started. The start of the shows was announced on August 1, the same day they were cancelled.

By “film product” was meant a free preview service that showed films from foreign studios coming out of Russia before showing films available for the Russian market. Money from tickets purchased for such sessions will be returned to buyers in full, Vasyasin specified.

Aleksey Vasyasin explained that by announcing the screening of “cinematic products”, the network wanted to draw attention to the problems facing the film industry and ask that these problems be resolved. According to Vasyasin, his goal has been fully achieved, the network administration is waiting for proposals from the Ministry of Culture to create a working group to prepare a plan to support the film industry.

The Big Five Hollywood movie studios – Walt Disney Company, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., Paramount, Universal – suspended the showing of their films in Russia and ceased their operations in the country after the start of a special operation in Ukraine.
