Caminhos dos Cânions do Sul geopark covers an area of ​​2,800 km² and is home to more than 74,000 inhabitants. The area is known for having the most impressive canyons in South America and is defined by the Atlantic Forest.

“The region’s pre-Columbian inhabitants took refuge in paleobushes (subterranean cavities dug by megafauna with extinct paleovertebrates such as the giant sloth) whose myriad traces can still be seen in the geopark,” UNESCO says.
