Since the beginning of this year, rumors have been circulating about an RDNA 2 refresh that AMD will, among other things, refresh certain graphics cards with faster memory. According to Hassan Mujtaba of Wccftech, the RX 6650 XT looks set to replace its 6750 XT and 6950 XT younger siblings.

Mujtaba claims that AMD’s add-on card partners will cease production of cards based on the RX 6600 XT, 6700 XT, and 6900 XT. Manufacturers would then focus on the 6050 XT series, which means older variants will eventually no longer be available.

AMD would present reference designs based on the RX 6050 XT in Mightnight Black.

While the exact specs are not yet known, there is talk of slightly increased clock and memory speeds in the hallways. To make this increase possible, energy consumption will also be increased. The RX 6050 XT models are expected to arrive on May 10. It is not yet clear whether these sku’s will be more expensive than current models.
