The other day Sony announced that its gaming software sales are down 26% year over year. Microsoft’s Xbox revenue also fell 11% year-over-year in the most recent quarter.
Total gaming spend fell sharply across the industry in the second quarter, with subscription content “the only segment with positive growth”. This growth has come despite Sony launching upgraded PlayStation Plus subscriptions.
In terms of hardware, the Nintendo Switch took the lead in sales.
