On April 13, the document of the Ministry of Digital Development was published for discussion on the draft regulatory legal acts portal. The ministry’s proposal will allow citizens to use smartphones instead of passports or other documents in daily life. The list of situations in which it will be possible to use this opportunity will be determined by the government of the Russian Federation. Use of the mobile app will be optional.

In February, the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev said that in 80% of all cases in everyday life you can do without a paper passport by replacing it with a smartphone.
