The owner of Pyaterochka, Perekrestkov and Chizhikov will buy controlling shares in the Siberian retail chains Krasny Yar and Slata. Earlier it became known that X5 Group plans to accelerate the development of the Chizhik discount store network in the regions of Russia.

Forbes has been told about the planned deal in the X5 Group. Company terms are not disclosed.

If the Federal Antimonopoly Service approves the deal, X5 Group will become the owner of a 70% stake in the Krasny Yar and Slata retail chains. The first has 226 stores in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Tyva, Khakassia, the second – 362 stores in the Trans-Baikal Territory, the Irkutsk Region and the Republic of Buryatia.

The Krasny Yar and Slaty stores will continue to operate under their own brands and retain their administrative staff. X5 Group intends to partially integrate the networks’ operational processes into its own, the company said.

Earlier it became known that X5 Group plans to accelerate the development of the Chizhik discount store network and bring its number to 500 in 11 regions of the country by the end of the year.

The X5 Group’s Pyaterochka network in the Siberian Federal District has 1,095 stores. The retailer also has two distribution centers in the area.
