Scientists from the Durrell Institute for Conservation and Ecology have found a link between natural scents and human health. It also turned out that such odors are often associated with people with memories and with certain ecological processes.
In general, the scents of nature, according to experts, affect various types of human well-being. Often this is especially physical well-being – a feeling of relaxation, comfort, rejuvenation. Thanks to relaxation (relaxation), the level of stress in the body and the amount of the stress hormone cortisol decrease. It is known that the excess of this hormone often leads to many different diseases.
The work was carried out by scientists in the forest. Experts studied the effects of nature’s scents on people in all four seasons. It also turned out that natural scents evoke memories of activities in a person’s childhood. And this also affected the well-being of the subjects, because it aroused certain emotions in them.
