In the first place, the callers pretend to be bank employees and inform the victims that a large amount of money transfer request has been received from their bank accounts in a fictitious way. This happened to 28% of those surveyed.
The share of those trying to be persuaded to give loans in their own name fell by 23 percent. Also, attackers often resorted to calls in which they inform their victims of an alleged big win. Thus, they tried to deceive about 17% of the respondents.
Experts also said that about 70% of Russians have experienced phone scams in the last three months alone.
