The express delivery services that Yandex developed in Paris and London have stopped working, Forbes has learned. The company had previously reported interest from competitors and investors in its UK business, but was unable to find a buyer for the asset.

Yandex shuts down grocery delivery services in Paris and London

According to one of the publication’s sources, “Yandex” has already begun to liquidate the French division, the process will be completed “in a maximum of two to three months.” The London grocery delivery business is also closing because the company has been unable to find a buyer for it.

Yandex reported that in London and Paris the company changed its business model and began offering IT solutions to manage delivery to external customers. This will be done by Yango Deli Tech, a new division of Yandex.

“We invite potential partners to configure and optimize all processes, from the warehouse management system, the picking application, the last mile routing and real-time BI (delivery monitoring) dashboards to the ordering systems automatic machines and warehouse robots,” the company said.

Yandex calls its potential customers in Europe express delivery services, representatives of online trade and classic retail.

Yandex moved its grocery delivery business overseas in November 2020 after opening a Deli-branded unit in Israel. Then, in August 2021, the service was launched in Paris and in October of the same year in London. In the European market, the service was called Yango Deli.
