Reuters reported on the upcoming protests at the offices of VTB Bank. Investors-clients of the bank demand the return of frozen assets after the start of the special operation in Ukraine. The number of investors whose assets were frozen was estimated at 500,000 people.

Reuters: Investors prepare protest at VTB offices over asset freeze

The fact that on August 11 a protest action will be held at the VTB office in St. Petersburg with the participation of investors with frozen assets, writes Reuters.

Participants in the process intend to achieve their goal – they want to see documents that describe the situation with the transfer of their assets to other brokers and their freezing. The applicants do not rule out the involvement of law enforcement agencies to solve the problem.

Investors intend to meet with the bank’s top management and demand the return of their frozen assets. The agency estimated the number of investors preparing for the protest at 100 people, and the number of bank clients whose assets were frozen after the start of the special operation in Ukraine at 500,000.

The VTB press service explained to the agency that they are ready for a dialogue with investors. They, in turn, plan to carry out similar actions in the bank’s offices in other cities.
