MegaFon announced a large-scale modernization of the network in the area of Lake Baikal, which is visited annually by more than 1 million tourists.
In particular, we are talking about the western shore of the lake in the Irkutsk region and the eastern coast from the side of the Republic of Buryatia. In this zone, the Internet speed is increased by 2 times.
The operator installed new base stations and risks that were in effect 1.5 times. The main work was carried out in the most popular areas of Olkhon and on the way to the crossing, as well as on the coast of the Small Sea, in the Baikal protected park, in the Barguzinsky natural biosphere reserve.
And in the Khakusy hot spring resorts in the northern part of the lake, MegaFon became the meeting operator.
It is noted that over the past 2 years, the tourist flow to Baikal has increased by 2.5 times, and the number of tourists has increased by 4 times.
