VideoLabs claims that devices from Acer, Asus, MSI, Motorola and Lenovo with video-enabled GPUs infringe four patents. Because of the lawsuit, the commission has to investigate, and if it finds that patents have actually been infringed, it may ban certain products from being sold in the United States.

Acer, Asus, MSI, Motorola Mobility and Lenovo have yet to comment on the commission’s investigation.
