People living in the USA, Canada, the north of Greenland have been building igloos or houses from snow blocks since ancient times. Archaeologists also confirm this.
The dwelling can be two meters high, four meters in diameter. Snow blocks are specially stacked in a spiral, and each block rests on three points for reliability. All the spaces between these blocks are covered with snow, and then the entire structure is poured with water from the outside.
If the house is built correctly, the temperature in it will be +5 degrees Celsius and above. This is explained by the laws of physics.
However, the main feature of the design of such a house is the entrance. The fact is that it must be under the floor and cannot be closed at the same time. Inside the igloo, warm air rises – under the dome, and carbon dioxide immediately exits through this hole.
Another reason why you can easily get warm inside such a house is its shape and size. Therefore, the building is gradually cooled from the inside.
Because the igloo is made of frozen snow, air remains between the snowflakes. It is considered a good heat insulator. Also, snow conducts heat worse than wood, and snow walls can easily absorb excess moisture inside the house.
