The first smartphone based on the Rosa Mobile operating system will be launched this fall, writes RBC. A device with an interface similar to iOS and Android will cost up to 40 thousand rubles.
The device was created in conjunction with the company 65apps, said Oleg Karpitsky, head of the development company NTC IT Rosa. According to him, the developers have integrated into the system “the best experience for Android and iOS users” so that the new device is comfortable to use and does not have to be re-learned.
At the same time, Rosa developed all engineering solutions, in particular, the drivers for the Wi-Fi module, cameras, etc. were rewritten. When developing the Rosa Mobile operating system, no Android components were used, this will protect against a shutdown by Google, says Karpitsky. At the same time, some Android applications can be run on this operating system.
Initially, banking, utilities and markets will be available on Rosa Mobile. However, for applications that use positioning systems to work, refinement will be required.
The operating system will have its own application market (RosaStore) with system services (phonebook, communication platform), company representatives are also negotiating with independent developers. Also, RuStore will work on Rosa Mobile.
As Karpitsky clarified, the first batch of smartphones will be released in Zelenograd on the Rutek line. Although the product is aimed at ordinary users, the company sees representatives of the public sector and corporate clients among the first buyers.
Smartphones produced by Rutek are scheduled to be entered into the register of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. After that, the devices can be sold to government agencies and other special consumers.
NTC IT Rosa, through Alternativa Capital LLC, belongs to Leonid Reiman, who from 1999 to 2008 headed the State Telecommunications Committee, and after its transformation into the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies (now the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications).
