The network has information about a new initiative of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation. As part of this, the department is considering the possibility of creating a dedicated financial compensation fund with major IT companies.
The fund will be replenished with part of the turnover penalty applied to a particular company. The money from it will then be passed on to victims of personal data leaks. At this stage, the Ministry is working on a mechanism by which payments will be made.
It is worth noting that a number of experts support the idea of the Ministry of Digital Development. For example, Roman Karpov, chairman of the ARPP “Domestic Soft” information security committee, described it as plausible.
