Airlines linked to tour operators lose almost half of their planes due to sanctions

RBC, citing carriers, estimated that airlines lost around 44 planesnamely:

  • Nordwind and Pegas Fly (Pegas Touristik): more than 20 ocean liners;
  • Azur Air (Anex Tour) – 11 aircraft;
  • Royal Flight (Coral Travel) – 11 aircraft;
  • iFly (Tez Tour) – 2 planes.

Thus, the five named airlines lost 39% of their fleet.

As a result, carriers’ passenger traffic has dropped significantly, for example, Nordwind and Pegas Fly expect a 50% reduction in traffic by the end of 2022. To avoid difficulties, tour operators refocused on flights to Egypt and Turkey.
