The Federal Antimonopoly Service approved the requests of VK and Yandex for an agreement on Delivery Club, Zen and Novosti. However, the service gave instructions and demanded that competition be maintained in the respective markets.
This was announced by the FAS on its Telegram channel.
As for the Delivery Club agreement, the service required not to create a monopoly for Yandex.Food and not to give preferences to restaurants and deliveries using the service.
“For service partners (restaurants), the order ensures that the size and procedure for the formation of remuneration are maintained for three years from the date of the transaction,” the FAS said. They added that Yandex should not take measures aimed at denying restaurants the use of Delivery Club services.
The prescription for the transaction in the purchase of the VK “News” and “Zen” services from “Yandex” implies the obligation of the new operator to obtain the consent of users for the processing of personal data for each service separately.
The parties announced the agreements on August 23. VK bought Yandex’s News and Zen services, and Yandex bought VK’s Delivery Club food delivery service, which the latter received after leaving the joint venture with Sberbank.
