In July, Russian retailers sold laptops 22% less than in the same period a year earlier. At the same time, the Chinese manufacturers Honor and Huawei increased sales against the background of the reduction of Apple and Asus, which suspended deliveries to the Russian market.
In July, 222 thousand laptops were sold for 13.1 billion rubles. In the first six months, about 1.4 million laptops worth 90 billion rubles were sold, Kommersant writes.
Lenovo Russia boss Alexander Kataev said laptop sales traditionally decline in the summer. In July, sales picked up due to lower prices for some models and marketing activities.
Citilink expects an increase in sales of its own brands and Chinese brands of computers and notebooks in the fall. MegaFon sales director David Borzilov believes that it is premature to talk about restoring sales to last year’s level due to the suspension of deliveries from major manufacturers. However, he did not rule out that the dynamic is positive due to sales prior to the New Year.
