Starting September 12, the Moscow Stock Exchange will launch trading in the Uzbek sum-Russian ruble currency pair.
“The Uzbek sum-Russian ruble currency pair will be traded on the spot market with settlements “today” and “tomorrow”. Additionally, overnight exchange transactions will be available to trading participants and their clients,” the trading platform said in a statement.
At the end of June, the exchange launched the listing of the Armenian dram and the South African rand in currency pairs with the Russian ruble and the US dollar. At the same time, the site announced the start of trading in the United Arab Emirates dirham. The exact date of the beginning of the negotiation was not specified.
On August 30, the Moscow Stock Exchange lifted the ban on short sales of the Armenian dram – Russian ruble currency pair. “Currently, more than 20 trading participants conduct transactions and provide clients with access to trade in the Armenian dram,” the report says.
Earlier, a representative of the Moscow Stock Exchange said that the site is considering the possibility of launching trading in new currency pairs, about 10-15 pairs are being worked out.
