Specifically, the study found that eating 35 grams of lightly salted roasted peanuts each day before two main meals can help lower weight and blood pressure.
In an experiment by scientists in Australian adults at moderate or high risk of developing type 2 diabetes, eating peanuts resulted in weight loss (up to 6.7 kilograms) after six months.
“Our study has shown that peanuts, which are high in healthy unsaturated fats, can be part of an effective weight loss diet,” the authors write.
