Apple released several security updates for macOS in 2022 that seriously risked protecting the Mac.

According to developer Howard Oakley and blogger Eclectic Lighting Company, Apple has discovered a new XProtect Remediator utility for detecting malicious applications in macOS Monterey 12.3.

XProtect Remediator is an integrated part of the XProtect service that looks for malware in the background and blocks it. XProtect Remediator is updated and activated at least once a day, and in some cases the service is activated every hour.

XProtect Remediator currently has a wide range of popular trojans and adware: Adload, DubRobber, Pirrit, SnowDrift, Trovi and Genieo.

macOS protection from Australian software has changed more in the past six months than it has in seven years.
