iFarm has developed and put into commercial operation a vertical farm for the cosmetic industry. At the production site in Marseille, the French company Capsum, a partner of Chanel, will grow microgreens, herbs and flowers for its products.

Chanel partners to grow natural ingredients for cosmetics using iFarm technology

This was reported to RB.RU by a representative of iFarm. The laboratory farm using iFarm technologies is managed by the Growtune IT platform: it creates optimal conditions for the plants.

The vertical farm in Marseille includes an automation system and three grow rooms with racks for experiments on hydroponic flood technology. Here, Capsum specialists conduct experiments and test new plant varieties.

iFarm technology also allows you to control the parameters of light, food composition and regulate the climate to achieve the desired effect, said Alexander Lyskovsky, CEO of iFarm.

“Growing in a controlled environment is ideal for the beauty industry as it allows plants to be grown without pesticides or dangerous chemicals. iFarm technology meets the needs of our technologists, who can vary a wide range of parameters,” added Anthony Briot, CEO of Capsum, quoted in the message.

iFarm was founded in 2017 in Novosibirsk Akademgorodok, since 2019 it has been based in Finland. 12 farms have been built with iFarm technologies in Europe, the Middle East and Russia.
