The mining and metallurgical company Evraz has filed a lawsuit against the Russian “daughter” of Dell. This is the sixth lawsuit against the American corporation: earlier, the Russian Pension Fund and Talmer, DCLogic, ITCost, Treolan and Croc Incorporated decided to deal with it in court. The total amount of claims exceeded one billion rubles.
The court put Evraz’s application on hold until the end of September: it contains no documents confirming the plaintiff’s compliance with the claim or other pre-trial procedures, Vedomosti reported, citing an arbitration case file.
At the end of August, American Dell Technologies announced the suspension of all operations in Russia and the closure of its representative office in the country. Dell also laid off all employees.
Amid the news of Dell’s departure, Vasily Shpak, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, said that “most” of the US manufacturer’s employees have already received job offers from Russian companies “with competitive salaries”.
