According to IT journalist Charlie Demerjian, Intel was planning to release Arc Alchemist discrete graphics cards late last year. However, the plans fell through due to covid restrictions. And then another “black swan” appeared – the Russian Federation sent its troops to the territory of Ukraine, and the company decided to leave the Russian market.

Intel ceased the work of the branch located in Nizhny Novgorod. And, according to the journalist, a significant part of the work on creating the necessary software for video cards was done there. Russian experts were responsible for the development of the shader compiler.

It was noted that Russian employees were offered relocation, but not everyone accepted it. Now Intel has to fix the problems somehow.
