In Russia, traffic cameras began to fine drivers for unbelted passengers. Information about this was confirmed by Autonews in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region.

Cameras are used to check unbelted passengers. The penalty under Art. 12.6 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for this offense is 1000 rubles.

The decision is selected automatically, without the participation of the driver, so the fine becomes the owner of the car.

In connection with the emergence and development of the fixation system operating in the Sverdlovsk region, the use of certified complexes that allow detecting violations of the rules for using seat belts has taken place from May 2022 to the present.

It was added to the number of the Ministry of Internal Affairs that they do not know the exact number of fines for unfastened passengers issued by the traffic police.

In Moscow, since 2020, unfastened seat belts have been recorded, but only for drivers, although the complexes allow the detection of unfastened passengers. [Autonews]
