Apple has launched an Apple Watch 6 repair program. Smart watches with permanent black screen problems are repaired free of charge. Specifically, it concerns Watch 6 models with a 40mm screen manufactured between April 2021 and September 2021. The larger 44mm model will not be affected by this issue.
If users are experiencing permanent blank screen issue on Apple Watch Series 6, they can check the serial number on Apple’s website. If eligible for the repair program, Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will offer a free repair. It can be assumed that this will be the case as well, as Apple does not repair the Apple Watch in case of screen damage, but replaces the entire smartwatch, except for the bracelets. Also, in this case, the bracelet should not be sent for service.
Since Apple provides a two-year warranty for the Apple Watch Series 6, all affected smartwatches sold between April 2021 and September 2021 will remain eligible for the repair program.
