The developer of the Russian Astra Linux operating system, the Astra group of companies, received a preferential loan at 5% per annum for 3.8 billion rubles. The company is obliged to return the money before December 31, 2026.

The developer of the Astra Linux operating system received a loan of 3.8 billion rubles for the development of the system.

The developer will spend the money on the development of the operating system, its release and adaptation to customer requirements, Vedomosti learned.

The project provides for the replacement of the import of customers’ IT infrastructure and the solution of problems that arise in the process of switching to Astra products with software from other providers. Such tasks include supporting the equipment used and simplifying the development and installation of application software.

To do this, they will create regional centers of competence, expand staff, increase technical support staff and implementation specialists.

The concessional loan program was launched in the winter of 2019. For three years, 64 billion rubles were issued, among the recipients are Tenzor, El 6, Astral-soft. The representative of the Ministry of Digital Development specified that the Astra loan is the largest for developers.

In total, according to him, 107 companies became beneficiaries of preferential loans. Until the end of 2022, it is planned to support projects in the total amount of at least 20 billion rubles.
