MegaFon updated the network in the Moscow metro, due to which the speed of mobile Internet increased by 42%.

First of all, the modernization affected the Koltsevaya, Zamoskvoretskaya, Sokolnicheskaya, Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya, Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya lines. They account for 45% of passenger traffic.

The new hardware settings expand the capabilities of LTE and take into account access to mobile services at high speed.

MegaFon provided its first public subscribers with access to 4G technologies in the Moscow subway in 2016. Traffic consumption is growing steadily – people are increasingly purchasing gadgets on the road. We monitor changes and modernize the network, taking into account the construction of new stations and redistribution of the load, so that our subscribers are constantly in touch and can use high-speed Internet even in the subway.

— Alexey Titov, CTO of MegaFon
