As part of the study, the scientists surveyed more than 700 children ages 12 to 18. Experts learned how much time participants spent using game consoles, cell phones, TVs and apps before bed.

This study examined both Netflix and YouTube. But only the last service consistently negatively affected the sleep of adolescents.

Teens were found to be 24% more likely to sleep less than seven hours for every 15 minutes they spent watching YouTube. In addition to YouTube, video game consoles have been associated with a high probability of sleep deprivation.

But television, on the contrary, forced the children to go to bed earlier. Perhaps this is due to the fact that teenagers interact with TV in a different way than with other devices. So they just watch.

Teens who spent 30 minutes in bed together on phones, laptops, tablets and watching YouTube went to bed 7-13 minutes late.

Finally, watching Netflix led to more sleep during the day.
